Edu-mentoring and Advocacy for new and independent entrepreneurs
America has been largely invented by small business people from Thomas Edison to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates; all just one or two people when they started. New businesses and innovation drives the economy and raises our standards of living. Yet many think of small business owners as self-serving profit driven. Nothing could be further from the truth. MicroGiants sees hardworking business owners as heroes and we celebrate them.
Our outreach includes mentoring groups, learning events and building links between those wanting to have an independent business, and those who already have one. Programs include:
MicroGiant Student and Graduate Chapters [MORE]
We organize and run small pods of eight to fifteen members who are considering a new business or working on building a business plan. These chapters are low cost or scholarship driven.
MicroGiant Small Business Chapters [MORE]
This group is for owners of small businesses that are struggling or want to take the business to the next level. These groups are membership fee based but priced below executive groups.
Piranha Bowl
A twist on Shark Tank, this event is an opportunity for all our groups to present ideas, business plans, and new products to an expert panel with real life experience and serial business successes. Participants are critiqued in a real-world way. Awards are granted, and investment opportunities are a possibility.
Advocacy
We advocate for independent business. Stuck between huge international corporate businesses, regulations and fast paced technical innovations, independent businesses are often not considered by local, state and federal rules and laws. We are another voice for small businesses with few resources.
Events
MicroGiants host events to expose new business owners to best practices for small business, guest speakers and business tours. We also participate with industry associations, chambers, job training and workforce groups.
